About
Nick started his professional career in the financial services group at PricewaterhouseCoopers, one of the four largest accounting firms in the world. The second stop in his career was the asset and wealth management group at Ernst & Young, another big four accounting firm. Finally, Nick joined Donald Button CPA, PLLC, and soon after it became Button & Button CPA, PLLC, where he learned the intricacies of small businesses.
The experiences gained by working with some of the world’s largest financial institutions based in New York City, Miami, Charlotte, and Chapel Hill gives Nick’s small business clients and individual clients a distinct advantage in understanding the options available to them. In 2021, Nick passed the series 65 Uniform Investment Adviser Law Exam allowing him to practice as a registered investment advisor. Being both a registered investment advisor and certified public accountant gives clients the insights to understand how different investment strategies translate to the tax side of finances.
When Nick isn’t spotting trends and following the latest market news, he is out back throwing the ball with his French bulldogs Oatmeal, Woodford, and Olivia, fixing up his ‘74 VW Westfalia and ‘71 Alfa Romeo GTV, or planning the next trip with his wife Ashley.

Don Button
Don started his professional career at Deloitte & Touche as an auditor. After rising through the ranks, he moved to the Todd Organization where he did executive benefits planning. In this role, he helped executives at fortune 500 companies, large regional and smaller local businesses determine the most beneficial retirement and financial plans available for their unique situations.
In 2002, Don started his own business Donald Button CPA, PLLC. With his background in accounting and knowledge of financial planning, Don focused on small businesses and their owners. Originally offering accounting, retirement services, insurance, and investment planning, Don narrowed his focus to accounting only while facilitating retirement contributions through payroll services. After 20 years of growth and experience, Don is stepping back into investment advising and retirement planning by starting Button & Button Wealth Management with his son. While Button & Button Wealth Management and Button & Button CPAs are two distinctly different businesses, individuals and businesses that are clients of both will benefit from Don’s natural understanding of the happenings on the accounting side and financial planning side.
When Don isn’t working in the firm, he is by the lake with his two boxers, in the gym working out, or cruising in his Corvette.
Don is a partner at BBWM but is not currently registered to be an investment advisor representative and currently cannot make recommendations. He is in the process of becoming an advisor.
